‘The Child is the Father of the Man’ - Presented by Aisling Theatre

19 July 2018

The Child is the Father of the Man is a new two-act play by Eamonn Colfer, whose last work, Master Storyteller Félim O’ Flaithulach, received a rave review from Jackie Hayden in the Wexford People:

“Perhaps without always appreciating it, we’re surrounded by stories . . . But there’s a knack to the art of storytelling, particularly of the fictional kind, that often reaches unchartered heights when we’re taken into the company of a live Irish Seanchaí (superbly played by Gary Lombard) as he delivers Eamonn Colfer’s new show at Wexford Arts Centre . . . What’s arguably most illuminating about the show is that a truly captivating story needs neither fancy technology nor stage trickery to carry you off to wherever an imaginative writer like Colfer wants to take you.”

This new play is set against the backdrop of small town gang culture and features James Freeney, Ben MacCaoilte and Martin Brennan.
