Join us to experience the wonder of music with Síle Daly (oboe) and Deirdre O'Leary (clarinet) who are members of the National Opera House Education & Community Programme! 

In these informal and fun workshops, discover the different sounds that the musicians’ instruments make and join in with some games and tunes that will get your inner musician going; no prior experience necessary – just your wish to have some fun!

Suitable for children (and accompanying adult) from 18 months up to 4 years. Choose either workshop 1 or workshop 2.

These workshops will be presented on zoom, and a link will be sent to participants in advance of the workshops. All that is required is an internet connection!

As places are limited, if you’re plans change and you can no longer participate please do let us know in advance, as we could then accommodate any waiting list.  

These workshops are Free of Charge but places must be booked in advance.

Session time: 30-40 minutes approx. 

Maximum places per workshop: 20 (1 child & 1 adult counts as 1 place)

Síle Daly has performed with numerous ensembles and orchestras including Prey Trio, Crash Ensemble, VOX21, Con Tempo String Quartet, The Vanbrugh Quartet, The Royal Shakespeare Theatre Company and Music Network's Musicwide series. She has recorded and composed for CD, radio and television, and currently lectures in oboe at the TUD Conservatory of Music and Drama. 

Deirdre O’Leary is a freelance clarinet, bass clarinet, and E flat clarinet player. She began her career playing regularly with the NSO of Ireland, the RTECO, Wexford Opera Festival, the Irish Chamber Orchestra, and at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival. She has also performed extensively with Prey Trio, Crash Ensemble, Cassiopeia Wind Quintet of which she is a founding member. Deirdre has worked as a musician in schools, hospitals and outreach settings since 1998 and also teaches clarinet and piano privately.
