HFC Concert Band Wexford returns to the National Opera House for their annual Christmas concert on Sunday 11th of December at 4pm. This concert will be the culmination of a busy and successful year of performance for the group. The band played at numerous outdoor locations during their summer season finishing in glorious sunshine at Johnstown Castle in July. Sandwiched between all of these concerts, the group also travelled to Clonakilty in Cork to compete in the South of Ireland Band championships where against stiff competition the group achieved a spectacular first place in the Intermediate Band section.
HFC are delighted to welcome Muireann Ní Dhubhghaill as guest conductor for this upcoming performance. Muireann plays flute, is a member of the award winning Dublin Concert Band has a Masters of Music Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music. Muireann has also conducted Dublin Concert Band and the National Symphony Orchestra and is really looking forward to the opportunity to perform at the National Opera House in Wexford.
HFC are also thrilled to welcome as special guests, the choir from Presentation School Wexford under the guidance of Musical Director Lorna Mahon. This prize winning choir is well known to locals having delighted audiences for many years with their performances in such events as Wexford Has Talent and with international performers such as Nathan Carter & Michael Londra to name but a few.
