Irish National Opera presents A concert performance RICHARD STRAUSS SALOME

3 March 2024
Tickets: €15 - €50 + Facility Fee

A royal, succession-like power struggle. Lust and death at every turn. A king who desires his wild and wilful step-daughter. Her erotic fascination with a condemned prophet. The result is a horrific trade. Based on Oscar Wilde’s play.

Wexford soprano Sinéad Campbell-Wallace, who amazed Irish audiences as Tosca in 2022, sings the title role in this concert performance of Salome. Richard Strauss’s thrilling and passionate score is brought vividly to life by the Irish National Opera Orchestra conducted by Fergus Sheil.

Duration: 1 hour and 40 minutes, no interval.

Sung in German with English surtitles.
