Kilmore National School return to the National Opera House on January 24th and 25th to perform their version of the hit musical Mulan Junior. Following the success of the award winning school production of The Lion King Junior in 2016, this show is sure to be popular with audiences of all ages. The 2016 production of the Lion King won the category of Best Overall School Musical at the Student Theatre Awards in the Bord Gais Theatre in 2016 following a sell-out show in the National Opera House.
Based on Disney’s Oscar-nominated film, Disney's Mulan JR. is a heart-warming celebration of culture, honour and fighting spirit. With hit songs and a story packed with action, humour and heart, Disney's Mulan JR.brings ancient China to life with a modern sensibility.
The Huns have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous dragon sidekick, Mushu, to save the Emperor! Defying the village matchmaker, Mulan takes up arms and disguises herself as a boy in order to spare her father from having to serve in the army. As the great battle with the Huns approaches, Mulan must choose between revealing her true identity as a girl or saving all of China with her clever plan.
The show is directed by class teacher Ms Mairéad Moore who is assisted by Ms Órla Kelly, Ms Dara Cullen and Liam Bates.
Prices for the show are €6 for children, €12 for adults and €18 for the founders circle. Prices include booking fee.
