SpringMoves Dance Festival and Liz Roche Company are excited to announce a range of workshop opportunities for young dancers, adults and dance teachers at The National Opera House on Wednesday June 1st from 7-9pm & Thursday June 9th from 10am – 12pm. The programme of workshops will be taught by Artistic Director Liz Roche and Liz Roche Company dancers Lucia Kickham, Ryan O’Neill and Glòria Ros Abellana, who are all dancing in the critically acclaimed piece ‘The Here Trio’, which is set for two live performances on June 10th at The National Opera House.

Contemporary Dance Workshop for Young Dancers 

Professional Dancer and Yoga Teacher, Ryan O’Neill will lead a workshop specifically for young dancers with other dance experience in areas such as Hip-Hop, Jazz and Modern Dance amongst other genres. This workshop will focus on teaching new contemporary dance techniques that lend themselves to the dancers original skill set and explore how different styles can complement one another.

Ryan O’Neill achieved a first class honours degree in Dance from the Ulster University and studied his Masters in Dance Performance at Laban as part of a professional post graduate company Transitions. Since then Ryan has worked with Maiden Voyage Dance, Off The Rails, ponydance, Tinderbox, Oona Doherty Works (NI), Irish Modern Dance Theatre, Junk Ensemble, Panpan, Company Philip Connaughton, Coisceim, Liz Roche Company (IRL), Gwyn Emberton Dance (UK) and Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More in Shanghai. In 2011 Ryan was selected by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland to meet Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham palace for recognition of his achievements as a young person in the Arts. Ryan is also a qualified Ashtanga Yoga teacher.
