Imelda Kehoe & Band Ordinary Star

13 March 2021
Tickets: €15
Concessions: €10

For one night only, Imelda and band will play a full-length gig which will launch Ordinary Star, the first release and Title Track from the forthcoming album, due for release later in 2020.

It is a very special opportunity to see this group of people perform in the National Opera House in Wexford. Featuring, Michael Egan (Guitar), Lee Byrne (Bass), James O’Sullivan (Fiddle), Sean O’Leary (Drums) plus special guests.

Ordinary Star, along with most of the Album tracks, was recorded at Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin. With its Bowie-like Drumbeat, Ethereal bass line, Fiddle and Guitar riffs and powerful vocals, it was easy to choose Ordinary Star as the Title Track.

Ordinary Star came from a conversation with an Eleven-year-old Danny, whose vocal sample features in the track. We all know an Ordinary Star, even the Sun is just an Ordinary Star.

Imelda Kehoe is an Irish/English Contemporary Folk Singer-Songwriter. Born in Leeds, the UK into a large, extended, Irish/English family, she lives in Wexford, a place she fell in love with 20 years ago.

Her style is uniquely hers and influenced by Folk, Blues, Indie and Americana, (plus some Pink Floyd and her Father’s Record collection). Her songs are melody-rich, with interesting lyrics, full of life experiences and always written with the listener at heart. Ordinary Star

‘You know, the Sun isn’t a special star, it’s just an Ordinary Star…. but it’s close to Earth, and that’s what makes it special to people’  - Daniel Kehoe, Aged 11.
