For over forty years, Sunday morning on RTÉ Radio 1 has meant Sunday Miscellany. Each week, the programme presents a selection of new writing from both established writers and new voices, woven together with complementary music. As part of RTÉ 1916, Sunday Miscellany presents a programme of new writing selected especially for this event.
RTÉ Radio 1’s Sunday Miscellany marks the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising with a special evening of newly commissioned writing. The programme will feature new writing from Billy Roche, Val Mulkerns, Declan Collinge, AM Cousins, Proinsias Ó Rathaille, Jackie Morrissey , Donal Ryan, Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill and Kieran Foley. Musical guests on the night are the RTÉ Contempo Quartet, tenor Morgan Crowley, Jimmy O’Brien Moran on uileann pipes and Iarla Ó Lionáird. Sunday Miscellany will be presented by the programme’s producer, Aoife Nic Cormaic.
