National Opera House Event

The Ask Christmas Concert

22 December 2018

Tickets: €15

The first ASK Christmas Concert will be held this year in aid of Pieta House. The Ask Campaign is a local initiative created by Councillor and former Mayor Frank Staples.

It aims to bring mental health issues into the light so to speak, and to help remove any remaining taboo surrounding the subject. The campaign strives to connect with those who may be feeling lost, fearful, confused or hopeless and encourage them to reach out for help. Equally it encourages all of us to reach out to those who may be suffering silently and ask them 'Are you ok?'. In support of The Ask Campaign the National Opera House will host an evening of collaboration between some of Wexford's finest musicians.

The Ocelots, Basciville and The Man Whom will perform their own songs as well as the odd Christmas classic, all featuring orchestral arrangements written and directed by Liam Bates and performed by his orchestra.

The concert will also feature the premiere of Jonathan Murphy's directorial debut 'What Becomes...'.

Written and directed by Jonathan and scored by Leo Staples this short, silent, film discusses inner conflict and the struggle of emotional upheaval. Created to promote awareness of the ASK campaign the film carries it's ethos throughout.
