Wexford Sinfonia Winter Concert

24 November 2019
Tickets: €20

Wexford Sinfonia is delighted to welcome esteemed conductor Robert Houlihan to the stage of the National Opera House, alongside soloist Martin Johnson, Principal Cellist of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.

Mr Johnson will perform Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme for Cello & Orchestra, a piece described by writer Michael Steinberg as a "warm-hearted declaration of love to what (Tchaikovsky) perceived as the lost innocence of the eighteenth century".

The programme also includes Wagner's Prelude to Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg and Dvorák's Symphony No 5 in F Major.  Alan Smale, former leader of the NSO, returns as the orchestral leader.

Wexford Sinfonia is grateful for the continuing support of Wexford County Council.
