Irish fiddle player, Zoë Conway is joined by her partner, in life and music, John McIntyre on guitar. Special guest is fiddle maestro John Sheahan (The Dubliners).
John Sheahan, now well into his 80th year, has many strings to his bow. As well as being one of Ireland’s best-loved fiddlers he is a composer, poet, woodcarver and origami enthusiast. Over the years he has performed with everyone from The Pogues and Kate Bush to Terence Trent D’Arby and André Rieu. In recent years Sheahan, Damien Dempsey and Declan O'Rourke, have toured together as 'The New Triangle'.
Zoë is a prodigious talent, equally at home in both traditional Irish and classical styles. Herself and John McIntyre have been described by BBC as “simply one of the best folk duos on the planet”. They create melodious and thrilling arrangements which, in the blink of an eye can transport one from Carlingford to the Carpathians!
This concert is part of part of Wexford Trad & Folk Weekend organised by Craobh Loch Garman, the Wexford town branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. It is support by Wexford County Council, Comhaltas and the Dept of Culture Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
