Culture Night 2026

Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir is brought to you by the Arts Council; it is a national moment, celebrating culture, creativity and the arts and seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives, today and every day.  It is delivered nationwide in cities, towns, villages and rural locations as well as online and through our media partners. 

1. Bohdan Grechko 6:15pm
Join us for a special Culture Night recital by Bohdan Grechko, an exceptionally talented 11-year-old pianist from County Wexford and a student of the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

This inspiring performance by one of Wexford's rising young musicians opens a wonderful evening of performances at the National Opera House as part of Culture Night.

2. Quay Note Choir 6:30PM
Experience the uplifting sound of The Quay Notes, a community choir based in Kilmore Quay. Their performance will feature a vibrant selection of a cappella songs from diverse cultures around the globe.

3. Wexford Chamber Choir 7PM
Join Wexford Chamber Choir for an inspiring evening of choral music from the 15th Century to the present day.  Under the direction of Music Director, Adèl Komáromy, the choir will perform a rich and varied programme of chamber and folk music.

4. Wexford Festival Opera 7:30PM
Enjoy a recital of popular opera arias performed by young performers from the Wexford Factory, the professional development programme of Wexford Festival Opera. The programme supports talented singers, pianists and stage managers in the early stages of their careers.

5. Wexford Light Opera Society 8PM
Come and see Wexford Light Opera Society perform a carefully curated selection of beloved Broadway and West End favourites, alongside contemporary musical theatre showstoppers. This special performance offers a preview of their upcoming production, Hits from the Musicals, coming this October.
