Getting to Wexford

Thank-you Digital Technology!  We are here: Y35 FEP3

Wexford town is easily accessed from the N25 and the N11.

Please note: Many streets in Wexford town centre operate on a one-way traffic-flow system.

There is an excellent bus service provided by Wexford Bus and Bus Eireann offering a variety of arrival and departure times. Irish Rail also operates a train service from Dublin. The bus/train station is located in Redmond Square and is approximately a 10 minute walk.

"Where is the National Opera House? I can't see it!", says nearly everyone that isn’t familiar with Wexford!

The National Opera House is located in the heart of Wexford Town on the site of the old Theatre Royal. The exterior of the landmark building was deliberately designed to fit within the street-scape of this residential area, which is parallel to Wexford’s Main Street. Pleasing to the eye, but not always easy to see as it purposely blends with the adjacent terraced houses. High Street is a very narrow street and observes a one-way traffic system.

Wexford Town Centre is small and can easily be walked from end to end in 15-20 min, offering a variety of parking options close to the National Opera House. There is limited ‘Pay-and-Display’ parking in the adjacent High Street Car Park.

Other great options include the nearby Rowe Street Church carpark (2 min walk) or the underground carpark in Clayton Whites Hotel (5 min walk). Both of these options allow you to pay upon exiting, Wexford town also has plenty of on-street ‘Pay-and-Display’ parking. Check on-street signs in the area for specific parking terms and conditions.
