Discovering Drama’s teenage students present our annual ‘Senior Showcase’.
Our oldest teens will explore a noir play called ‘Tough City, Prone to Rain’. The students have risen to the challenge of presenting this very stylised piece. Donna Rockbridge needs the women (not dolls, dames, or sweethearts) from the Broadly Speaking Detective Agency to find her twin brother before trouble does. They’re ready to take on the case. Just don’t ask their secretary to answer the door; he hasn’t quite mastered doors and phones yet.
Our second offering of the night is ‘Snow White and the Seven Endings’. Again, the students are learning about different types of acting styles through this fractured fairytale.
Happily-ever-after gets turned on its head in this comedic retelling of Snow White’s classic princess fairy tale. When the seven forest dwellers (who can be tall or short, it doesn’t matter!) reminisce about their recent run-in with a royal run-away, they each have a different take on how the story unfolds and who the real hero is. But which is the real ending? The only thing they agree about is that the Prince shouldn’t get the credit!
Join us for what will be an entertaining evening of theatre from the oldest crew at ‘Discovering Drama’, proving that the future of acting is in safe hands!
