Loreto Secondary School and St. Peter’s College proudly present Footloose the Musical this December.
The musical is an adaptation of the 1984 hit film Footloose, which tells the story of Ren McCormack, a teenager who moves from Chicago to the small town of Bomont, where dancing and rock music have been banned. Determined to challenge the town’s oppressive rules, Ren inspires his classmates to fight for their right to dance, leading to a showdown with the town’s conservative leaders.
The musical with a high-energy score featuring songs like “Footloose”, “Holding Out for a Hero” and “Let’s Hear It For the Boy”, captures the spirit of youth rebellion and the joy of dancing. Since its stage debut in 1998, Footloose has become a beloved production known for its dynamic choreography, memorable music, and timeless themes of freedom and self-expression.
Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals, this production brings the classic story to life on stage. Under the direction of an experienced team from both schools, the show promises to be an energetic, engaging and dynamic production showcasing the talents of students from both schools.
