Celebrating its 30th year, Oyster Lane Theatre Group are thrilled to present their 2024 production - the Irish premiere of Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens’ hit show – ‘A Christmas Carol – the Musical’.

Under the musical direction of Patrick Clancy, direction of Tom O’Leary and choreographed by Jonny Smith, have no doubt that this heart-warming, energetic musical adaptation of the festive family tale will be the perfect start to your Christmas season. Based on the 1843 novel by Charles Dickens and brought to life with beautiful music by Disney’s award-winning composer, Alan Menken (The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Beauty and the Beast, Sister Act, The Little Mermaid and Little Shop of Horrors) and Tony award-winning Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical and Anastasia). Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated "Bah! Humbug!" Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he's forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present, & Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful "Happy Christmas" before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him.
