This event is FREE, but booking is essential.

Suitable for ages 7-12.

Step back into the Iron Age and uncover the science of the ancient Celts in Chemistry and the Celts — a spectacular interactive show from the ever-inventive Scientific Sue!

Dressed as a wise druid, Sue blends history, storytelling, and explosive chemistry to reveal how the Celts harnessed the elements to forge iron, make medicines, dye cloth, and even create soap. From fiery metalwork and natural dyes to some hilariously smelly experiments involving ancient Celtic techniques, every moment brings science and history to life in unforgettable ways.

With plenty of audience participation — including volunteers minting coins, crafting soap, and experimenting with colour-changing chemistry — this show is bursting with fun, learning, and laughter.

Join Scientific Sue for a journey through time where history and science collide in a vibrant celebration of Celtic creativity and curiosity!
