The Misneach Orchestra makes its National Opera House debut with an exclusive, one-night-only performance alongside two of Ireland’s most acclaimed musicians: Fergal Scahill and Ryan Molloy.
Formed through Craobh Bheartla Uí Fhlatharta, CCÉ Leixlip, The Misneach Orchestra brings together over fifty of Ireland’s finest musicians under the direction of composer and conductor Ciarán FitzGerald. The ensemble presents the richness of Irish traditional music in an orchestral setting, performing newly composed works rooted in heritage but shaped by contemporary imagination. Their self-titled debut album, recorded at Windmill Lane Studios and launched to a full house at the National Concert Hall, has been praised for its originality and emotional power.
For this special concert, the orchestra will perform The Misneach Suite, alongside a thrilling, exclusive collaboration with Fergal Scahill and Ryan Molloy. The virtuoso fiddle-and-piano duo are celebrated internationally for their artistry and have recently released their fourth critically acclaimed album The Gannet’s Dive (2025).
Scahill, known for his work with the award-winning band We Banjo 3 and his global Fiddle Tune A Day project, and Molloy, Associate Professor of Composition at Maynooth University with more than fifty works performed internationally, share a deep musical friendship stretching back to the Fleadhanna Cheoil of the 1990s.
Together with The Misneach Orchestra, will present an evening of powerful new music, combining orchestral scale, uplifting energy, and contemporary vision.
