Celtic Roots have proved to be most successful Irish show in the Southeast. Formed in 1998, the group of approximately 60 dancers, musicians, singers and storytellers have travelled all over the World showcasing the very best of Irish music, song and dance.
Celtic Roots was formed to promote Irish culture at home and abroad, and the group is a community based, not-for-profit organization, with all members and mentors giving their time on a voluntary basis. To date the group have travelled to Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, the UK, Brazil and Japan, while also promoting Irish culture at home to local audiences and tourists.
The group will return to the National Opera House on Saturday January 3rd. This show is a culmination of a busy and successful two years of performances for the group. They were a headline act at the St Patricks Festival Lanzarote in March 2025 for the 5th year running, while their performances captivated audiences at the Kennedy Summer school New Ross and Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
The show which features World champion Irish dancers and All Ireland Fleadh winners in singing, music and dancing, is produced by Kay McKelvie & Sinéad Long. The group will be joined on the night by The Wexford Academy of Irish Dancing along with many local musicians and singers.
