A Major Film & TV Industry Event in Wexford.
Bodecii Film and Women in Film & Television Ireland (WFT Ireland), in association with Screen Ireland and Screen Wexford , present Lights, Camera, Access: From Script to Screen – Wherever You Are — a full-day industry event at the National Opera House, Wexford, on April 25th, from 10am to 5:30pm.
Whether you're a writer, director, producer or emerging creative, this event is designed to open doors, break down barriers, and bring the industry to you — regardless of where you’re based or your level of experience.
The morning begins with the acclaimed Wexford Screen Writers Academy, offering a Masterclass on demystifying funding applications. This session will help make the industry more transparent and accessible, providing practical guidance for getting your projects funded and off the ground.
Next is a case study on the BBC NI and Virgin Media series Dead & Buried, featuring screenwriter and novelist Colin Bateman (Divorcing Jack, Murphy’s Law), executive producer Ben Grath, and BBC NI’s Eddie Doyle, hosted by director Laura Way. This panel gives a rare inside look at how a TV drama gets commissioned and made.
In the afternoon, the spotlight turns to Producing from Beyond the Pale 3, the third in WFT Ireland’s acclaimed series celebrating regional filmmaking.
The session opens with a case study on FEED, hosted by screenwriter and showrunner Paul Walker, alongside Ripple World Pictures. Shot in County Wexford last year, FEED showcases how strong creative work can thrive outside urban production hubs.
Following this, producer Fiona Kinsella will lead the Producing from Beyond the Pale 3 panel, with guest speakers from TG4, Screen Ireland, the WRAP Fund, Screen Wexford, BBCNI and others. The discussion will focus on the role of regional film offices, funding bodies, and local support systems in growing a more inclusive and accessible Irish screen industry.
The day concludes with a networking reception, offering attendees the chance to connect with filmmakers, writers, producers, and industry professionals in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
More than a networking day, Lights, Camera, Access is a practical, inspiring, and empowering experience for anyone dreaming of a career in film and television. Whether you're just beginning, rebuilding, working from the margins or an industry professional — this day is for you.
