This event will take place at the Presentation School
Pléaracha agus Scoraíocht
The objective of Pléaracha & Scoraíocht competitions is to provide activity, for as wide as possible a range of branch members, and to encourage initiative in the presentation of Irish Traditional Music, song, dance, Irish language, storytelling and recitation.
The Scoraíocht competition was particularly intended for those with a flair for inventive presentation and depends very much on the skill of a producer with knowledge of all principles of stage presentation.
Lackagh Comhaltas
Lackagh Comhaltas was founded in the 1960s. Over the past 15 years, the branch has been extremely active and vibrant, holding weekly branch sessions and always endeavouring to encourage "ceol agus cairdeas" amongst their members.
They have recorded and produced two CD's, participated in Siansa Gael Linn competitions, performed on Fleadh TV and the Late Late Toy Show, hosted an online virtual Feis during the Covid-19 pandemic which attracted over 1,000 competitors, performed at numerous charitable concerts and have had the privilege to support leading traditional acts such as Sean Keane, Goitse, We Banjo 3 and Sharon Shannon.
Lackagh Comhaltas members are no strangers to the Fleadh Cheoil scene, be it playing a session on the street, competing in a competition or playing to a large audience on the outdoor gig rig! Lackagh Comhaltas are proud to have won five All-Ireland Grúpa Cheoil titles over the past decade and in 2024, they were crowned All-Ireland u12 Ceilí Band champions for the second year in a row at the Fleadh in Wexford. 2025 has also been a busy year for Lackagh Comhaltas to date and they were delighted to win the All-Ireland Scór na nÓg instrumental music competition in Jan, followed by the Plearacha na nÓg competition in March. These achievements are testament to the commitment and loyalty of our young musicians, teachers and parents alike.
In concluding, Lackagh Comhaltas aim to encourage young friendships through Irish traditional music, song, dance and storytelling. Long may this strong tradition continue amongst the youth.

Led by Aoibheann Queally, they not only keep our rich musical heritage alive but also thrive on learning, playing, and sharing music together, regardless of age or experience. Some members have been part of our musical family for over twenty years, while others only joined the Plearacha group in September 2024. Yet, they all share one thing in common—a deep passion and energy for traditional music that shines through in every note they play.
CCÉ Craobh Camross
Camross Comhaltas branch in North county Laois at the foot of the Sliabh Bloom Mountains provides music classes across a broad range of instruments for children throughout the county
As well as providing music tuition, the branch is extremely fortunate to be able to pass on an inherited tradition of set dancing and song.
The branch celebrated its 50 th anniversary last year and is going from strength to strength though the great work of our tutors under the direction of a strong committee who receive great support from parents and the local community.
This Scoraiocht is particularly special as it brings together so many former and past members who have brought great success and joy to the branch over the years and have gone their own paths but dedicated themselves to this production over the winter months and indeed into the Spring as it transpired this year!
The show was under the musical direction of Shona Nevin and produced by Breda Culleton with set dancing overseen by Catherine Lalor and a long-time relationship and collaboration with The Gabriel Lynam Dancing School in Co. Laois.
