Prepare for a powerful and unforgettable musical experience as Wexford Light Opera Society proudly presents Jesus Christ Superstar at the National Opera House from Monday 27 April to Saturday 2 May 2026.

This legendary rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice tells the story of the final days of Jesus through the eyes of Judas Iscariot, set to a groundbreaking score that changed the face of modern musical theatre. Featuring classic songs such as I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Superstar, and Gethsemane, this dramatic and deeply human retelling continues to captivate audiences more than fifty years after its debut.

The 2026 production will be brought to life by an outstanding creative team: Director Christine Scarry, Musical Director David Hayes, Choreographer Therese O’Sullivan, Chorus Mistress Eithne Corrigan, and Stage Manager Colin Murphy. Together, they promise a visually stunning and emotionally charged interpretation filled with exceptional vocals, striking choreography, and a fresh contemporary vision.

Following their sell out and All Ireland AIMS winner of 'Best Overall Show' for The Phantom of the Opera in 2024, and their contrasting production of Young Frankenstein in 2025, Wexford Light Opera Society once again brings its hallmark of excellence, energy, and passion to the stage.
